Halloween Wedding
(Ryan and Tracy)

In the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains, South of San Francisco, Ryan and Tracy were married at a Buddhist Retreat Center. It was the perfect setting for a weekend visit, which included many friends and family from rural New Hampshire and Syracuse, NY. Guests were led through the property by pathways to rustic cabins and central gathering spots, including one area used for late night bonfires (with permits, of course). The towering redwoods surrounded an overlook, which served as the ceremony site.

Festivities commenced on Friday evening with a Halloween themed party folowing the wedding rehearsal. The bride and groom had met on Halloween and wanted to create a memory reflecting that. The theme was complete with smoke machines, all attendants and lodged guests in costume, and 'spooky' music.

The bride, a graphic artist by trade, had many creative ideas she envisioned for her day. Among them involved becoming a beekeeper at her Golden Gate Park hive (near where they lived) to bottle Mead for their first toast. She designed her Save the Date notice, Menu and Invitation in a brilliant grass green accented with pomegranate details.

The groom, Ryan a talented musician seen in Bay Area clubs, performed with his band during the evening. Another friend, attending the Culinary Academy, made and served the sumptuous dessert in lovely glass dishes. Their wish to include many friends and family using their invidividual talents was successfully accomplished.
